Background

In order to live the vision of creating world-class experience, both managers and employees need to have a well-developed self-leadership and ability to create good relationships with guests and with each other. Leaders also need to have well-developed abilities to lead their teams and units so that motivation, commitment and service level are kept to the highest possible level, in a demanding work environment.

Casino Cosmopol supports its leaders, both prospective managers and executives at various levels in the company, with different training programs. Together we have created trainings that are based on the company's values and leadership profile.

Solution

The programs aim to give managers an in-depth knowledge of what successful leadership is, learn about different leadership theories and train leadership behaviors in an advanced and relevant way with the help of experience-based learning, reflection and sharing of experiences.

Prior to the training days, the leaders do pre-work with the purpose of starting the process and reflection on their leadership. They also carry out a self-assessment of their emotional abilities (EQ) that research has shown is crucial for good leadership.

The focus is on developing good self-knowledge and good self-leadership in order to better lead others. We are working to further develop key strengths and development areas. The leaders bring concrete tools for leading themselves and others as well as coaching, feedback, challenging conversations and dealing with conflict.

The participants also get a deeper insight into leading change and develop their ability to be opportunity-oriented and to develop trusting relationships with employees, colleagues and guests.

Results

The programs have a high level of commitment and high participation. The participants feel that they have gained an increased self-awareness and many concrete tools that they can use in their daily activities. They feel that they are expanding their network and getting to know their colleagues on a deeper level through the reflection exercises. On an evaluation scale from 1 to 6, the participants score the programs 5 or 6.
